With COVID vaccines finally making the rounds and certain U.S. states opening their venues to full capacity, organizers are beginning to consider the possibility of music festivals returning once again. Not only that, but it’s increasingly clear that fans are ready to throw caution to the wind and attend these events. Case in point, Furnace Fest 2021 has just been announced for this September, and if you’re a fan of metal and hardcore, get ready, because this show has one hell of a line-up.
Furnace Fest 2021 will go down September 24th through 26th at the Sloss Furnaces in Birmingham, Alabama. The three-day festival’s line-up includes some of metal and hardcore’s most celebrated acts, among them Killswitch Engage, Underoath, Taking Back Sunday, Converge, Gideon, He Is Legend, Shai Hulud, Andrew WK, Unearth, Piebald, Every Time I Die, and many, many more.
Many of these bands were scheduled for Furnace Fest 2020, and fans who purchased tickets for that fest will have their passes accepted for this one. If you’d prefer a refund, you can ask for one via greenlight@freshtix.com until April 2nd.
“We are more confident than ever that Furnace Fest will happen this September,” wrote the festival via their Instagram. “Covid cases are trending down. We have access to three highly effective vaccines with others in development. Much larger events have either already happened (Super Bowl) or are scheduled for our same timeframe (Riot, Alabama Football, Louder than Life),
“In a worst-case scenario, we’ll be transparent with you about the possibility of any postponement. Ticket purchases will always be transferable, and you may now purchase ticket cancellation protection ($20.11 for 3-day passes) to guarantee your money back.”
