It looks like Nuclear Blast has decided to invest in the future of metal. Only last week, it was announced that the label had signed Arizona death metal heavyweights Gatecreeper. Now, it’s been revealed that they’ve also snapped up UK-based sludge metallers Conjurer as well!

For those of you unfamiliar, Conjurer are one of the more exciting underground bands to emerge in the past five years. Their 2018 debut full-length Mire is an expertly-crafted piece of musical grossness, with its thousand-ton riffs and unhinged howls evoking a sense of dread as well as a far-reaching emotional scope. All of which is to say these guys are super talented, and Rob Zombie, Sabaton, and Nightwish should be proud to call them label-mates.

“We are extremely excited to partner with Nuclear Blast worldwide for the forthcoming release of our second album,” said the band via their social media. “Having spent the last year or so getting to know Monte Conner, we count ourselves lucky to be working with not only a true legend in the world of heavy music, but one who continues to champion exciting, forward-thinking art.

“We’ve now also been introduced to Barley and the rest of the international team at NB and it’s evident that they understand our mentality and want nothing more than to support and nourish our creativity. In what has been an awful year on so many levels, we are grateful to have found the right home for our music.

“We look forward to working together with NB to bring you our sophomore album in 2021, and much more in the years to follow.”

The band’s back catalog can now also be accessed via Nuclear Blast.

From everyone at The Pit, congrats to Conjurer! This band rules, and we’re glad they’ve signed to a label who will bring them to a wider audience.
