August Burns Red Drop Animated Video for New Track “Standing In The Storm”

It’s been a hot second since we heard from Pennsylvania metalcore crew August Burns Red, but the band have apparently been busy. Today seems them premiering an animated video for their new single “Standing In The Storm,” and both track and video are especially killer.

As you’ll see below, the video for “Standing In The Storm” utilizes a cool, almost stop-motion paper animation style that’s very unique. The band’s portrayal of both benign, innocent daily events and the harrowing truths about our world come off as especially dramatic when created seemingly in origami (directed by Stefano Bertelli, with animation provided by Seen Film). In a way, it makes one see the ills of the world from the point of view of a child, showcasing just how awful we’ve made society around us for the next generation.

“‘Standing in the Storm’ is a song about fighting for something important to you, and enduring the hardships that come with that fight,” says lead guitarist JB Brubaker. “We had a lot of fun with this track and I’m pumped on how it came out.”
