In case you didn’t know, December 8th is Corey Taylor‘s birthday, with the Slipknot and Stone Sour frontman turning 47 this year. In honor of this momentous occasion, the singer has two reveals for fans — a lyric video from his solo album CMFT and the announcement of his own new signature coffee blend.
The lyric video is, appropriately enough, for the track titled “Everybody Dies On My Birthday.” The video uses some eclectic animation to add a lot of zombie horror and static birthday-themed weirdness to the song, which is a pretty straightforward hard rock tune. The message seems to be that Corey is the walking dead, celebrating one more trip around the sun even as he has to deal with another round of bullshit while he gets one year closer to death.

If Corey Taylor’s solo material isn’t your thing, perhaps a hot cup of his coffee will be. Following in the footsteps of Lamb of God and Kreator, the singer has announced the creation of CMFT Private Blend, a collaboration with Menotti’s Coffee in Venice, CA. The press release for the brew describes it as being “for friends that love darkish roast flavor, with just a hint of excitement peeking around the corner ready to ride a Rainbow in the Dark.”
According to Taylor, “We wanted to create something that gave you that same comfortable and cozy feeling you get from a really good cup of diner coffee after you’ve been riding on HWY 666.”
Corey’s coffee, along with limited-edition birthday merch, can be purchased at his online store. Meanwhile, European fans can catch Corey live with Slipknot next summer at one of the following dates:
