Watch Members of High On Fire, Pallbearer and More Cover Thin Lizzy’s “Emerald”

Published on:

Last we checked in with those no-good drunkards over at Two Minutes To Late Night, they were performing a cover of Oingo Boingo’s “Dead Man’s Party” in honor of Halloween. But now, with the spooky season gone and winter fast approaching, the dudes are celebrating their pagan origins — with a performance of the greatest battle hymn in rock history, Thin Lizzy‘s “Emerald.”

For this rousing horseback anthem, House Gwarsenio called together an awesome army of doom metal musicians who would do this gem justice: Jeff Martin (Lo-Pan) on vocals, Brett Campbell (Pallbearer) and Nate Garrett (Spirit Adrift) on guitar, Jeff Matz (High on Fire) on bass, and Santos Montano (Old Man Gloom) on drums (not to mention Gwarsenio Hall on vocals, guitar, and punim). The result is a worthy tribute to Thin Lizzy’s song of Celtic legend and Robert E. Howard attitude that’ll have metal fans wondering if maybe they are the kind of guy who collects swords.

Check out the cover of “Emerald” below:

If this one doesn’t rally you to drink and war, watch one of Two Minutes‘ other covers:
