Check Out Corey Taylor’s Cover of Motörhead’s “Ace of Spades”

Today’s a big day for Slipknot/Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor. Not only does his debut solo album, CMFT, drop today, but tonight will also see him livestream a show from The Forum in Los Angeles. Seemingly to celebrate these two momentous occasions, Corey has released vide of him performing a cover of the greatest heavy metal song of all time: Motörhead‘s “Ace of Spades.”

Footage of Corey and his band launching into a rip-roaring traditional cover of Motörhead’s greatest hit was posted on Twitter wrestler Triple H, who wrote, “Can’t thank @CoreyTaylorRock enough for lending his new track Culture Head off the his new album CMFT (OUT TOMORROW!) as the #NXTLOUD theme for #NXTTakeOver: 31 … but this one is for Lem… #AceOfSpades”

Check out the cover below. And before you hate, trust us: it’s pretty spot-on.

If this track gets one Slipknot fan to become obsessed with Motörhead, all is right in the world.

The cover comes as an appetizer to tonight’s livestreamed performance of Corey’s new album via the singer’s pay-per-view show Forum or Against ‘Em at LA’s The Forum.

“I’ve been saying since the beginning I’d find a way to bring this music and this band to the people,” said Taylor in a statement. “And I’m honored that The Forum let us do just that. It’s CMFT in its entirety. It’s songs I’ve shared over the years. It’s a celebration, and I’m so stoked to party with all of you.”

Tickets for the performance are already on sale. For megafans, there’s also a package that includes tickets, a T-shirt, a hoodie, a poster, and access to view an exclusive acoustic set by Corey. Not only that, there are also an extremely limited number of bundles that include a one-on-one chat with Taylor, so get your questions ready
