Last we left those no-goodniks from Two Minutes to Late Night, they were performing a witchy, elemental cover version of Fleetwood Mac’s “You Make Loving Fun” with former Megadeth guitar wizard Marty Friedman. But Jesus, something must have happened to them in the week since, because now they’ve revealed their latest cover, and man, it is a downer.

The track in question is “Rain When I Die” by Alice In Chains, and damn if this assembled crew doesn’t do it depressive justice. Filling out the ranks this time is guitarist Mike Sullivan (Russian Circles), drummer/vocalist Brann Dailor (Mastodon), vocalist Justin Suitor (Painted Wives), and guitarist Steve Brodsky (Mutoid Man, Cave In), with Two Minutes host Gwarsenio Hall taking over bass duties this time around. The cover is as thick, nasty, and languid as the original, and is a solid reminder to all metalheads that while Slayer can make you feel pissed, Alice In Chains can bum you into oblivion any day of the week.
