Let’s face it: metalheads dig Star Wars. Whether you love or hate George Lucas’ sprawling vision of space wizards laser-docking in the future-past, there’s no denying that the series’ epic scope and militant take on sci-fi and fantasy has gripped the minds of heavy metal fans the world over, so much so that it might even be fair to say that heavy metal would look and sound entirely different if the original trilogy had never come out. Now, the first trailer for the second season of The Mandalorian has been revealed — and by the looks of it, the new episodes promise to win over even the most jaded of headbangers.

For those of you who haven’t seen it, The Mandalorian follow Dyn Jarren, one of the few remaining members of a race of hermetic warriors called Mandalorians (a set of whose distinctive armor, fans will note, is worn by the Star Wars universe’s famed badass bounty hunter Boba Fett). Jarren is sent on a mission to bring a person of interest to the last remaining cells of the Galactic Empire, post-Return of the Jedi. But when he discovers that said person is a baby of the same race as Jedi master Yoda, he decides to renege on the deal, and begins an epic quest to bring the child to safety — or die trying.

The first trailer for Season 2 is not only epic, it’s fucking killer. The show, originally helmed by Iron Man director Jon Favreau, had always done a good job of adding a gritty underworld element to the Star Wars universe. But with this footage, they’re taking things one step further, with scenes of Jarren on a barge and at a back-room intergalactic UFC fight bridging the gap between that trilogy’s world and our own.

Check out the trailer below and yell, “YEAH!” at your screen.

The Mandalorian drops October 30th on Disney+.
