It Looks Like AC/DC Have Revealed Their New Album Title

Published on:

Yesterday, after last week’s accidental leak which showed the world that they had brought back vocalist Brian Johnson and drummer Phil Rudd, AC/DC began officially teasing their new album. Now, a series of other new developments within the band — a newsletter, website, and poster — all seem to suggest that they’ve also revealed its title.

The title in question is PWR/UP, and was first brought to light for most of the world by a poster that was discovered outside of Angus Young’s high school in Sydney, Australia. Wrestler Triple H posted a picture of that poster, with the caption, “This poster has popped up outside Angus Young’s old High School. What are AC/DC up to?”

If that weren’t enough, Ultimate Classic Rock reports that the band have also launched a new PWR/UP website, pwrup.acdc.com, which allows fans to sign up for a new newsletter.  The image on the site includes the title, though the names of the band members appear obscured.

All of this comes after fan site AC/DC Brasil claimed it had screenshots of photos that were posted — and quickly thereafter deleted from — AC/DC’s website. The shots are supposedly of the band recording a video together in the Netherlands, and feature Brian Johnson on vocals, as well as drummer Phil Rudd playing with guitarist Stevie Young for the first time. Rudd’s inclusion is also noteworthy, as the drummer was let go from the band due to a drug conviction and threatening to kill a former employee, and famously said he would not rejoin unless Axl Rose left their ranks.

Whether or not PWR/UP is the title of the new AC/DC record remains to be officially confirmed, but it sure as hell looks like it.
