Last we heard from industrial metallers Fear Factory, guitarist Dino Cazares had announced that amidst setbacks and legal issues, the band were planning on releasing new music in 2021. Since then, Fear Factory have started a GoFundMe campaign to help their new album get made — and have now posted a first taste of their new songs.

The new tunes come in the form of studio updates about how things are going thus far, including Dino Cazares speaking to fans and getting them up to speed about where the band are at. As Dino notes, the band’s crowdfunding campaign has seen incredible support, with over $20,000 of its $25k goal having been funded as of now.

“I just want to say thank you for all the continued support and all the donations that everybody’s contributed to the GoFundMe page,” says Dino. “We are past our halfway mark, which is amazing — in two and a half days, that’s great. So all this extra work on the record is going to pay off in the end, and everyone is going to be happy, because this record is going to kick ass. It’s gonna be an amazing, classic Fear Factory record. We got Andy Sneap, who mixed [2015’s] Genexus, is gonna be mixing this record. We got Damian Rainaud Henley on production duties, and Mike Keller playing live drums. Again, thank you very much, and we appreciate all your help.”

The first update video then shows the band in the studio listening to recordings of new music. The second actually shows drummer Mike Keller playing through some of the songs that will be on the band’s new album. Check ’em out:
