Two Minutes to Late Night’s “Bedroom Covers” series has been one of the best things to come out of the COVID-19 shutdown. The series sees Gwarsenio Hall — a.k.a. Two Minutes’ corpse-paint-slathered master of ceremonies, also a.k.a. Jordan Olds, the un-corpse-painted host of The Pit’s own talk show Last Words — assembling all-star ensembles of quarantined musicians to take on classic rock and metal songs. So far, highlights have included a Chelsea Wolfe-helmed take on Ozzy’s “Crazy Train,” a Neil Fallon-fronted rendition of AC/DC’s “Riff Raff,” a raucous playthrough of White Zombie’s “Super-Charger Heaven,” and an awesome performance of Guns N’ Roses’ “Rocket Queen” helmed by Sleigh Bells’ Alexis Krauss, Poison the Well’s Ryan Primack and more. Two Minutes’ latest offering captures a one-time supergroup — featuring Emma Ruth Rundle (Marriages, Red Sparowes, the Nocturnes), Bill Kelliher (Mastodon), Aaron Rieseberg (YOB), Santos Montano (Old Man Gloom) and, of course, Olds himself — tackling Kate Bush’s “Running Up That Hill, ” which has re-popularized by singer Meg Myers. “Hello friends, we decided to release this video on schedule even though our country is in turmoil because we wanted to honor the hard work of our guest musicians and to give our fans a respite from the horrors of the fascist police state,” Two Minutes proclaimed in the description for the YouTube video. “In lieu of donating to our Patreon, we ask you to consider making a donation to the protestor bail funds for your local city (we’ve listed some of the major ones below). Please take a moment to acknowledge our many friends who cannot enjoy any kind of video right now. Black Lives Matter. Rest in power George Floyd and the many other victims of systemic oppression.
