Last month, Steve Von Till announced his latest solo album, No Wilderness Deep Enough, and offered up its opening cut and lead single, the hypnotic “Dreams of Trees.” While the musician is best known as one of the two fiery frontmen of Neurosis — the post-metal stalwarts responsible for such transcendent epics as Through Silver in Blood and Times of Grace — Von Till has also been making solo music for the last 20 years. Sometimes released under the stage name Harvestman, his solo output is much quieter, if still heavy, delving into folk, ambient, neoclassical and other divergent genres.

Today (June 3rd) Von Till has unveiled another cut off No Wilderness Deep Enough, the moody, ambient “Shadows on the Run” — stream it below via YouTube. In addition to the new solo album, the Neurosis vocalist will also be issuing his first-ever book, titled Harvestman: 23 Untitled Poems and Collected Lyrics. The collection assembles writing from across his two-decade-long solo career, and will be published in a limited hardcover first edition by Astrophil Press at the University of South Dakota and illustrated with linocuts by Mazatl. See the table of contents — as well as the track listing for No Wilderness Deep Enough below. Both the book and the album are available for pre-order now via Neurosis’ own label, Neurot Recordings.
