See Body Count’s New DIY “Point the Finger” Video Featuring Power Trip’s Riley Gale

West Coast gangsta rap OG Ice-T’s long-running metal band Body Count dropped its latest album, Carnivore, earlier this year, and it’s a straight-up crusher. The follow-up to 2014’s Manslaughter, it’s packed with take-no-prisoners bangers including a ripping cover of Motorhead’s “Ace of Spades” and a metallic take on Ice’s 1988 hit “Colors. The LP also features a slew of big-name guest contributors including Evanescence frontwoman Amy Lee, former Slayer drummer Dave Lombardo, Hatebreed bandleader Jamey Jasta and Power Trip vocalist Riley Gale. The last of these appears on standout cut “Point the Finger,” the hardest hitting number on the album, which takes on a familiar heated topic for Body Count: police brutality.

Now, the group have unleashed the music video for the track, which, like the song itself, bristles and explodes with unbridled intensity. Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and resulting social-distancing restrictions, the clip — which was produced and edited by Jay Rodriguez for Itchy House Films — was filmed entirely with the band members’ and Gale’s cell phones while the musicians were in home quarantine. Watch — and check out the song’s incendiary lyrics — below.

“Point the Finger” lyrics:
Poor little Johnny didn’t live to see sixteen
Gun made his lung collapse
Buried the body of his brother the next week
Cops shot him twice in the back

Wrong floor, kicked down the door
No questions asked
(Police mothafucka)
Eyes meet, both on their feet
They open fire before he can speak

Wrong place, wrong time
Stay out the streets is what they mama said
Dead man, no crime
School boys, they never broke a law

Anywhere, any time
They shoot first and ask questions last
Could be yours, could be mine
And then they point the finger at you
(And then they point the finger at you)

Unarmed, it don’t matter, you can get got
Your own home, it don’t matter, you can get shot
They feel fear and start squeezing that gat
They shoot to kill, now you’re flat on your back

Dead witness, no coincidence
Drug deal gone bad (Drug deal gone bad)
The fuckin’ badge is the biggest gang
We’ve ever had

Wrong place, wrong time
Dealer dead, no drugs, no cash
Dead man, no crime
Cops shot him, said he reached for a gun

Anywhere, any time
They shoot first and ask questions last
Could be yours, could be mine
And then they point the finger at you

How many more innocent people and kids
Gotta get killed by these police, man?
And then it’s always the victim’s fault
This is some fuckin’ bullshit

Wrong place, wrong time
They shoot first and ask questions last
Dead man, no crime
And then they point the finger at you
