New England-based metal stalwarts The Acacia Strain are continuing to spit fire — this time in the way of two more savage tracks. Listen to “Crossgates” and “I breathed in the smoke deeply it tasted like death and I smiled” below.

The latter of which features Left Behind vocalist Zach Hatfield.

“This is my personal favorite set of two, but don’t let that sway your opinion,” says TAS vocalist Vincent Bennett. “Short and sweet meets long and depressing — the perfect combination. Zach from Left Behind was the obvious choice for ‘I breathed….’ He added so much to the song and I’m happy he was able to. We are living hell.”

In Bennett’s reference to “two,” the extreme metal group has been dropping two-song, seven-inch releases recently and digitally though Rise Records. So far, the pattern also includes the second song featuring a guest singer. Today’s (April 17th) is titled C, and is available for purchase here.

The previous seven-inch was E — a pummeling dose of insanity that featured “Solace and Serenity” and “The Lucid Dream,” which included guest vocalist Jess Nyx of Mortality Rate.

Prior came D — which was also nothing shy of ferocious. It included “Feed a Pigeon, Breed a Rat” and “Seeing God,” the latter track featuring Aaron Heard of Jesus Piece and Nothing fame.

So now we have C, E and D. What are The Acacia Strain up to? Aside from delightfully blistering our eardrums of course.
