Back in 2011, Metallica lent their Ride the Lightning classic “For Whom the Bell Tolls” to pro wrestling superstar Triple H for his entrance at WrestleMania XXVII. This past Saturday (April 4th), the thrash pioneers offered up another one of their songs, this time a more recent cut, “Now That We’re Dead” which was used at WrestleMania 36 as both the entrance and exit theme for famed wrestler The Undertaker during his match versus AJ Styles. WrestleMania 36 marked the first time in WWE history that WrestleMania was held over two nights in front of an empty arena with most of the show taped in advance — all due, of course, to the coronavirus pandemic and restrictions around public gatherings. Despite the unusual circumstances, Metallica appeared to be excited about being part of the event, tweeting, “The legacy continues. @WWE superstar The @Undertaker walked out to ‘Now That We’re Dead’ on @WWENetwork!” See The Undertaker’s entrance below.

Tonight — Monday, April 6th — the band’s “Metallica Monday” concert series will continue with its third installment, a livestream of the quartet’s performance at at Forum København in Copenhagen, Denmark, on July 22nd, 2009, during their World Magnetic Tour. Tune in for that on via Metallica’s  YouTube channel and Facebook page, and check out the setlist for that show below.
