Metallica have offered up the sixth and latest entry in their ongoing “Metallica Mondays” concert series, which has seen the band digging up epic footage of shows from across their heralded career and broadcasting them on the group’s YouTube channel and Facebook page. It’s been a great way for homebound fans to pass two-and-a-half hours or so amid the social-distancing restrictions of the COVID-19 pandemic. This week’s show was filmed on November 1st, 1991 at L.C. Walker Arena in Muskegon, Michigan, during the “Black Album” tour. Watch and check out the set list below.
“While we’re all doing our part and staying home, we find ourselves missing live music,” Metallica said in a joint statement when announcing the “Metallica Mondays” series, “so how about we dive back into a few of our favorite shows at a socially responsible distance?”
So far the series has included, Metallica’s 2019 show at Slane Castle in Ireland, their set at Paris’ AccorHotels Arena on September 8th, 2017, the thrash OGs’ performance at at Forum København in Copenhagen, Denmark, on July 22nd, 2009, during their World Magnetic Tour, a take-no-prisoners set at San Francisco’s Outside Lands Festival in the summer of 2017, and the group’s May 31st concert in Munich, Germany.
In addition to “Metallica Mondays,” James, Lars, Kirk and Rob have also responded to the coronavirus crisis via their nonprofit organization, All Within My Hands, donating “four grants totaling $350,000 to organizations dedicated to assisting those hit hard by the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic.”
