The Acacia Strain are on a creative tear. Back in December, the deathcore stalwarts semi-surprise-released the 38-minute EP It Comes in Waves, a conceptual single-song experiment “about this idea of gods actually being not only real but also physical beings that are just having their way with us at our expense, just so they can have something to do.” Then in February, they dropped a new 7-inch and digital single, succinctly titled D and including two blistering cuts, “Feed a Pigeon, Breed a Rat” and “Seeing God,” the latter of which features Aaron Heard of Jesus Piece and Nothing. Today (March 20th), the band are back once again with another 7-inch and digital single, this one titled E (sense a pattern?). Issued through Rise Records — it’s available here — the release, like its predecessor, comes with two tracks, “Solace and Serenity” and “The Lucid Dream.” The second features a guest turn by Mortality Rate vocalist Jess Nyx.

“I’ve been a fan of Jess since Judiciary introduced me to her voice, and I’m extremely happy to have her on a song,” the Acacia Strain’s frontman, Vincent Bennett, commented of E. “Solace, serenity — enter the lucid dream. The second chapter is here. We descend further and further into our own undoing.”

According to Bennett in an interview with Decibel late last year, his band has plenty more music on the way including a new full-length that’s already recorded and ready to go for a 2020 release, also via Rise.  In the meantime, stream “Solace and Serenity” and “The Lucid Dream” below.
