The Black Dahlia Murder are set to drop their highly anticipated new album Verminous — the follow-up to 2017’s Nightbringers — on April 17th via Metal Blade. Ahead of the big release date, the death-metal stalwarts have offered up the LP’s lead single and title cut. The LP was recorded at both Michigan’s The Pipeyard by former BDM bassist Ryan “Bart” Williams and at the Shred Light District, guitarist Brandon Ellis’ home studio. It mixed by Tue Madsen (At the Gates, Dark Tranquillity) and mastered by Alan Douches (Cannibal Corpse, Hate Eternal) and features cover art by Juanjo Castellano (Paganizer, Avulsed, Bodyfarm).
“I think this is the biggest evolutionary leap we’ve ever taken from one album to the next,” BDM vocalist Trevor Strnad commented. “We stoked the creative fires with 2017’s Nightbringers and it’s gone much further now in Verminous. It’s a very colorful, moody, and charismatic album that experiments with new sounds and ideas without losing the cutthroat Black Dahlia edge. There is a lot of minutiae to digest. Plenty of delicious little Easter eggs woven into the fabric of each song. Each one is a living, breathing entity that will stand on its own as some of the best music this band has ever created.”
BDM will hit the road shortly after Verminous’ release for a massive spring tour with thrash true believers Testament and Municipal Waste — see the full itinerary below.
