Japanese metalcore rising stars coldrain are on a tear and quickly making an international name for themselves. Led by half-American and bilingual frontman Masato, the band toured the U.K. and Europe heavily last year, while also cementing their hold over their homeland and Asia at large. In 2020, the band are set to expand their empire even further with the launch of their very own festival, Blare Fest. Coldrain will host the event on February 1st and 2nd in their hometown of Nagoya and bring in an array of global acts including U.S. mosh-starters We Came as Romans, Volumes, Crown the Empire, the Fever 333 and the Word Alive. Numerous Japanese bands, such as Crossfaith and Crystal Lake, are also scheduled to perform.
Coldrain’s connection to Crystal Lake runs deep — the latter group recently lent the former their vocalist Ryo Kinoshita for the crossover smash single “Mayday,” which is used as the theme song of the anime Fire Force.
