British punks Creeper supposedly retired just over a year ago, but a surprise London show on the anniversary of their dissolution saw the resurrection of the slick gothy outfit on November 1st, followed by the release of a new single, titled “Born Cold,” debuting on Radio 1’s Rock Show with Daniel P. Carter. With increasing airplay racking up listens, the band has now released a sleek and stylish new video that sees the sextet give it their all in a wintry setting straight out of a dark fairytale. Directed by creative collective Forest of Black, the clip is meant to start world-building in a way that will slowly unleash a whole new narrative world for Creeper.

“The video reveals the world and themes of the new album for the first time,” explains ghoulishly cool singer Will Gould. “It also introduces the fans to the first of the new characters in the Creeper universe: Roe, a man from another world.”

Symbolism abounds in the short, from feathers slowly trickling down from the sky on the band in the throes of their performance, to a mysterious, viscous black liquid trickling through the fingers of a faceless character. It appears some sort of dark angel will stand front and center, hinting at a cosmic or religious story arc to come.

Now that they’re back, Creeper will keep up the pace and hit a few winter dates around the United Kingdom in early 2020 in direct support of Kawaii-metal titans Babymetal. See below for the four-date run.
