Motionless in White carry a very specific aesthetic torch that was lit in the goth and industrial underground, and their latest video for the emotionally charged track “Another Life” shows off that specific sartorial sense in a beautifully cinematic and seemingly high-budget way.
Starring two opulently garbed lovers dancing around a lavish ballroom, the storyline follows them until a dramatic dip in their ballroom dance see the world go black for the long-haired man in the relationship as his lover disappears. His despair is chronicled through a series of scenes where he searches for his assumed ex as flashbacks interject to tell a different story of how the pairing ended. Happier times play out until one by one, they disappear into nothingness as well.
The band themselves appear frequently as well, with passionate performance clips interjected throughout the main storyline. “The one thing we wanted to do more than any other when it came to picking the next single,” singer Chris Motionless explains in a statement, “was listen to the fans’ feedback as the deciding factor. The fans have overwhelmingly spoken, and we are proud to release our favorite track off the album, ‘Another Life,’ as our next single and music video. This is a very special and deeply meaningful song for our band, and we couldn’t be happier that it will finally have its moment.”
“Another Life” is taken from Motionless in White’s most recent album Disguise, which debuted at #4 on Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart and #2 on the Hard Rock Albums chart. The band will be supported by Beartooth, Stick To Your Guns, Nothing Left, and Limbs on their upcoming U.S. winter tour, kicking off January 4th in Seattle, WA.
