The legendary Ice-T-fronted rap-metal unit Body Count are back with the announcement of their upcoming seventh studio album, Carnivore, and a wicked ripper of a lead single of the same name. Continuing the group’s vicious tradition of melding downright evil, staccato riffs with one of hip-hop’s most iconic voices, the song introduces fans to yet another savage body of work from one of the most unique and toughest bands in the game.
The roaring, blackened undertones of this track’s guttural attack are brought to visual life perfectly by the fascinating, gory visualizer that comes with the single. The clip highlights the Carnivore cover art, which was created by Polish artist Zbigniew M. Bielak (known for his work for Ghost, Mayhem and Deicide) and, in dripping, blood-red linework, features a gorgeously rendered and intensely detailed map of Los Angeles inside the torso and mouth of a snarling character that pays tribute to both Body Count’s home turf and their unmistakably biting sound.
Carnivore is set to be released on March 6th via Century Media Records, with more information, including a track list and a pre-order offer, expected on January 10, 2020. Next year the band will hit the road in Europe for a series of summer festival and headlining gigs, kicking off June 19th at France’s massive open-air event Hellfest.
