Does Hatebreed frontman Jamey Jasta ever rest? We think not. The dude always seems to be up to something moshy and awesome, and his latest project is the second album from his solo project Jasta. Titled Lost Chapters Vol. 2 and due out December 13th, the upcoming LP features guest appearances from a slew of heavy hitters including Howard Jones (Light the Torch), Frankie Palmeri (Emmure), Billy Graziadei (Biohazard) and Zoli Teglas (Ignite). Earlier this month, Jasta unleashed a pair of songs off the record, “Strength to Draw the Line” and “When the Contagion Is You,” featuring two of the biggest names on the LP, Killswitch Engage‘s Jesse Leach and Trivium‘s Matt Heavy, respectively. Today, November 21st, he’s dropped another new cut, “Spilled Blood Never Dries,” this one featuring Crowbar’s Kirk Windstein, who has collaborated with Jasta in the past with the sludgecore supergroup Kingdom of Sorrow. If you like what you hear, you can pre-order Lost Chapters Vol. 2 here now.
For his part, Windstein has also been keeping busy. The New Orleans metal godfather is gearing up to release his own solo album, his first ever, titled Dream in Motion, and a few weeks ago, offered up its lead single and title cut. Rumors are also swirling that he may be rejoining sludge supergroup Down next year, when that band is set to return to the stage in celebration of the 25th anniversary of their landmark debut album, Nola. The group — which, in its original lineup, included Pantera’s Philip Anselmo, Corrosion of Conformity’s Pepper Keenan, Eyehategod’s Jimmy Bower, and Windstein — is currently scheduled to play Belgium’s Graspop Metal Meeting and Denmark’s Copenhell.
