While he’s had a busy year already and only more to come as Slipknot continue the feverish pace of their latest album cycle with We Are Not Your Kind, singer Corey Taylor is refusing to slow down and is currently championing a special “Collector’s Edition” of the brand new horror documentary titled In Search of Darkness.
“My name is Corey Taylor,” he states in a teaser trailer for the movie, “I am an avid, avid horror fan. We’re about to fuck your day up.”
The collectible DVD and Blu-Ray film, directed by David A. Weiner, will see Taylor joined by icons of the 1980s and modern horror scenes as well as influencers who all help the masked musician dive deep into the origins of the film genre, with Taylor’s favorites taking front and center.
Set to join will be 45 contributors, including legends like Halloween director John Carpenter, Child’s Play director Don Mancini, film critic and writer Joe Bob Briggs, A Nightmare on Elm Street actor Heather Langenkamp, and Pinhead himself of the Hellraiser franchise, Doug Bradley, all in conversation about the relationship between what was happening in specific films and how that action related to society at the time of its release.
Pre-orders for the movie are up from now only until midnight on Halloween night, October 31st, and paying for the film will ensure a personalized copy with the purchaser’s name in the credits of the films.
What to expect when the film arrives on your doorstep in November:
-280 minutes of footage of “the most comprehensive documentary on ‘80s horror ever made”
-Exclusive collector’s edition movie poster
-Unique Corey Taylor pin not available elsewhere
-A high-quality postcard featuring artwork created specifically for the film commissioned by legendary artist Graham Humphreys
