Fresh off his longtime band’s nomination for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Motörhead guitarist Phil Campbell has dropped his first-ever solo album, Old Lions Still Roar, via metal stronghold Nuclear Blast. The LP is a star-studded affair featuring cameos by a host of heavy hitters including Dee Snider of Twisted Sister, shock-rock godfather Alice Cooper, former Slipknot percussionist Chris Fehn, Skindred frontman Benji Webbe, Ugly Kid Joe’s Whitefield Crane and guitar shredder extraordinaire Joe Satriani (see the full track listing below). But Campbell’s biggest get might be the Metal God himself, NWOBHM pioneer Rob Halford of the mighty Judas Priest. Halford sings on Old Lions Still Roar standout “Straight Up,” which you can stream now via the song’s official lyric video.

“‘The Metal God’ Rob Halford has always been an artist I admire,” Campbell enthused in a statement. “His distinctive vocals and stage presence have rocked millions of fans all over the world, so I count myself blessed to have written a rockin’ song together with him!”

Like Campbell with Motörhead, Halford is also up for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s 2020 class, having been nominated with Priest. The inductees will be announced in January. These guys better make the cut!
