Power-metal true believers Dragonforce are gearing up to release their eighth full-length, the aptly titled Extreme Power Metal, which was produced in Los Angeles by Damien Rainaud at Mix Unlimited. Due on September 27th, the album was recorded, in part, on guitarist Herman Li’s livestream channel on Twitch with participation from the fans. The band has already offered up one cut off the LP, the soaring lead single “Highway to Oblivion,” and today they’ve offered up another high-octane taste of what’s to come. The latest Extreme Power Metal single, “Heart Demolition,” comes paired with a fun, Mase Brothers–directed music video with a throwback video-game vibe, paying tribute to the classic Sega Genesis console .

“This album again combines the best of Dragonforce in an even bigger, more epic way than we have ever done before,” Li enthused of Extreme Power Metal. “We are so excited for fans to hear it.” The keyboards of the record were performed by Coen Janssen (Epica), who played in place of Vadim Pruzhanov, who split with the band last year. Guitarist Sam Totman commented on his contribution: “We worked really closely with Coen on this new album. We are so happy with what he has brought into this new album. Every fan will be so happy to hear his majestic playing.” See the full track listing below.
