Philip Anselmo’s much-hyped acoustic project En Minor is set to drop its debut 7-inch tomorrow (Friday, August 2nd) via Anselmo’s own Housecore Records. The self-titled 7-inch features two songs, “On the Floor” and “There’s a Long Way to Go,” and ahead of the big release day, the band has offered up the former as a first taste of what they’re all about. While Anselmo has referenced the Cure and Sisters of Mercy in interviews about En Minor, leading to rumors that the project would see the former Pantera singer going full goth, “On the Floor” sounds more like Nick Cave or Tom Waits, with Anselmo adopting a somber, gravelly tone atop atmospheric, folk-tinged acoustic instrumentation. Hear the song below.

In addition to Anselmo, En Minor features Stephen Taylor (Superjoint, Philip H. Anselmo & the Illegals, Woven Hand, 16 Horse Power), Kevin Bond (Superjoint, Christ Inversion, Artimus Pyledriver), Jimmy Bower (Eyehategod, Down, Superjoint), Calvin and Joiner Dover (The Dover Brothers) and Steve Bernal (former first cellist in the Temple Symphony Orchestra). The band plans to release its full-length debut later this year. In the meantime, its debut 7-inch is available for purchase now via the newly launched Housecore store (for physical orders) and via the En Minor Bandcamp page (for digital formats).

En Minor are scheduled to play their first-ever live show at One Eyed Jacks in Anselmo’s native NOLA, followed up by an appearance at  this year’s Psycho Las Vegas festival at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.

En Minor live dates:
8/14/2019 One Eyed Jacks – New Orleans, LA
8/16/2019 Psycho Las Vegas @ Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino – Las Vegas, NV
