In November 2015, metalcore giants the Ghost Insane suffered a devastating bus accident on U.S. Highway 80 in Mesa, Arizona on U.S.: a head-on collision with a tractor trailer. The crash claimed the lives of both the bus driver and the driver of the other vehicle, and left the band members with crippling injuries — drummer Andrew Tkaczyk was in a 10-day coma immediately following the accident and ultimately lost one of his legs — and wondering if they would ever play live onstage again.
On Saturday, July 13th — after years of major surgeries, recovery, physical therapy, and even the invention of a device that enables Tkaczyk to perform with his one remaining leg — the Ghost Inside made a triumphant return to the stage. The group played its comeback show at the Shrine in Los Angeles, California, tearing through nearly 20 song set. This Wild Life, Wage War’s Cody Quistad, and Trade Wind opened the concert.
For now, the show looks to have been a one-off with the Ghost Inside explaining, understandably, that they were still unsure of their long-term plans. That said, the band did confirm that new material is in the works. See fan-shot footage of the group’s comeback show, and at the bottom of the post, check out the full set list from the concert.
