Last year, Deftones threw the inaugural Dia De Los Deftones festival, which boasted a super eclectic lineup including hip-hop hitmaker Future, Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda, rockabilly veterans Rocket From the Crypt, incendiary rap-punk group Ho99o9 and rising New England hardcore stars Vein. Today, July 29th, the Sacramento alt-metal band have announced the second annual installment of the event. Like the kickoff edition, this year’s fest features a wide-ranging, genre-crossing bill topped, of course, by Deftones themselves: on the heavy side of things, they will be joined by French metal stalwarts Gojira, industrial duo Youth Code and post-hardcore upstarts Brutus; from the hip-hop world, experimental artist JPEGMAFIA; representing spacey alt-rock, Nineties favorites Hum; and representing indie synth-pop, Chvrches. Dia De Los Deftones II is an all-ages event and is set to go down on Saturday, November 2nd, at Petco Park in San Diego, California.
“In our second year of our festival, the exciting challenge for us is to make sure we once again give the fans a wonderful day of music that reflects the diversity of our own tastes,” Deftones singer-guitarist Chino Moreno said of the 2019 lineup. “Each artist fits a different vertical of the music that we all love. There is truly something for everyone.”
