The crossover between electronic music and heavy metal continues with the new single “Night Terror” from EDM producers and best friends Kayzo x Yultron, which features the headbanging contributions of metalcore favorites Of Mice & Men. The track, which well suited for both the dance floor and the mosh pit, dropped today via Ultra Music. Kayzo has a long history of collaborating with rock artists, including Alex Gaskarth of All Time Low (“Up In Flames”), Underoath (“Wasted Space”), Blessthefall (“Before the Storm”) and Our Last Night (“Alone”). “Night Terror” is the just latest in that long line, and it comes ahead of a new album from the electronic musician.

The song started in the studio with Kayzo and Yultron, and evolved greatly when the latter brought in his longtime friends Of Mice & Men to add vocals, guitars and live drums to the producers’ soundscapes. Lyrically, the cut explores the dark places that we can sink into when we should be asleep. “‘Night Terror,’ to me, describes the vulnerability of our minds and the overwhelming sense of terror that can sneak into our thoughts when we lay awake at night,” Says of Mice & Men’s drummer Tino Arteaga. “We all know that feeling and I think this song really shows how irrepressible those feelings can become sometimes.”

“Night Terror” follows up Of Mice & Men’s own hard-hitting 2019 singles, February’s “How to Survive” and May’s “Mushroom Cloud.” The band has a steady stream of tour dates ahead of them throughout the summer, including stops at many of the big festivals in European including Wacken, Brutal Assault and Dynamo — see their upcoming itinerary here.
