On Friday, May 17th, Slipknot gave their two latest singles, “Unsainted” and “All Out Life,” their live premieres during their raucous performance on the outdoor stage of Jimmy Kimmel Live! The Iowa metal nonet’s return to late-night television — which aired on ABC — also saw the live debuts of the group’s new masks and attire, as well as its new mystery second percussionist, who banged kegs alongside cofounder Shawn “Clown” Crahan. Also notable, singer Corey Taylor played the mini-set firmly on his own two feet, despite recently undergoing surgery on both his knees. “Unsainted” will be included on Slipknot’s forthcoming sixth album, We Are Not Your Kind, which is due out August 9th (see the cover art and full track list below), while “All Out Life,” though its lyrics include the record’s title, does not appear on the LP but rather was released as a standalone single on Halloween 2018.
Starting June 7th, the band is scheduled to hit the road in Europe, a stint that will include a June 9th global livestream of Slipknot’s entire headlining set in front of a sellout crowd of 90,000 fans at Germany’s Rock Am Ring Festival. Then on July 26th, the group will return to North American stages to launch the first-ever Knotfest Roadshow, with support from Volbeat, Gojira and Behemoth.
