Hype continues to build around the impending release of Tool’s beyond-highly anticipated new album, the enigmatic prog-metal conjurers’ first in approximately 2 billion years. Rumors have it that the LP is finished — or at least in the final stages of mastering — which is big news for fans perplexed and exhausted by the recent slew of contradictory statements from band members regarding the state of the album and the plans around its release. One thing we do know as fact: Singer Maynard James Keenan, guitarist Adam Jones, bass player Justin Chancellor and drummer Danny Carey have a bunch of new tour dates set for this spring, kicking off with an appearance at May’s Welcome to Rockville festival in Jacksonville, Florida, and — at least, for now — wrapping at Chicago Open Air in, you guessed it, Chicago. Between those appearances, the band has scheduled eight headlining concerts, which, we can only hope, will see them cranking out an epic new tune or two amid set lists otherwise stacked with old favorites.

Tickets for the upcoming dates are set to go on sale this Friday, March 15th at 10 a.m. local time. Purchase links can be found on the band’s official website.
