Machine Head’s Burn My Eyes is one of the Nineties’ greatest metal albums, a politically charged master class in street-smart groove and grit. August 2019 will mark the 25th anniversary of the watershed record and Machine Head main man Robb Flynn has big plans for celebrating that milestone. The band’s self-proclaimed “general” revealed on Facebook that he has reunited with guitarist Logan Mader (now of Once Human) and drummer Chris Kontos, both of whom played on Burn My Eyes (Mader also appeared on its follow-up, 19976’s The More Things Change…), since longtime members Phil Demmel and Dave McClain’s departure late last year. The reunited lineup — rounded out by bassist Jared MacEachern, who joined Machine Head in 2013 — has been rehearsing together and will kick off a 25th anniversary tour for Burn My Eyes later this year. The shows will see the band playing three hours across two parts: part one, in which Flynn and MacEachern will play modern Machine Head cuts with two, soon-to-be-announced players, and part two, in which they’ll tear through ‘Burn My Eyes’ in its entirety joined by Kontos and Mader. So far, only European dates have been announced, but a U.S. leg to the trek is promised.
